Its being a busy few weeks since the last Nutcracker MTB race near Bedale North Yorkshire
I was supposed to be Flying to Majorca for a weeks training camp in the warm Balearic sunshine, But the Ash cloud had other Ideas grounding my Easy Jet flight from Liverpool.
Instead of sitting in the airport all week we decided to put plan b in to operation, this involved opting to Drive to the South of france and finalizing the destination on route.
Some how we ended up just south of Montpellier on the coast Palavas-les-Flots
(Motpelliers beach)
I spent a week here topping up my tan and getting some good hard
solid miles in the legs
From there we moved on to Germany, Freiburg in fact a beautiful
town in the black forest where I was force to drink the locally
brewed energy drink.
Pictured above is the centre of Freiburg not a spoon saddle in sight.
but a cracking place for cycling if not a little bit hilly once you leave the town
From there we agreed to moved up to Echternach in Luxembourg a small
sleepy town or so we were expecting.
When we arrive the town square had a Stage up with THE KING Elvis on it.
but we still managed to get a good two hour ride in despite all the distractions.
The next day we were due to board the Ferry to Hull but still managed to fit in a stop
at the Liege-Bastogne-Liege Classic cycle race in Belgium.
a small helping of Belgium's national dish and we boarded the Pride of York.
But back at home now looking forward to The Yorkshire summer Cyclo Cross series,
Nutcracker MTB XC on the 23rd May and then Charges Set 3 rise on 29th/30th May.
