I got the Scissor frame and Nozzle forks delivered last week and built up my new bike. Every time I build a bike, I always think 'well I must have all the necccesary tools THIS time' but there always seems to be something you are missing and it always takes longer than you think. This time I realised I need a star shaped allen key for the torque nuts on the Charge bolt on hubs. And I had to enlist Keith's help to cut the steerer tube down but it was ready to go by Friday evening.
It feels great! The minute I got on it it just felt 'right'. Super sturdy, well balanced and dependable. It felt like an old friend coming home.
I've got the Nozzle fork on here which is kinda like the old dirt jump fork I had on the old bike but tapered and lighter. I've also got a shorter stem as the top tube is longer plus I've got beefy bars plus bigass 38' tyres. The bike feels a lot more like a big bmx crossed with a mountain bike and a fixed gear and its good for jumping about on. It feel like it could take a beating. The tyres might be a bit much for me; I'm not sure I need them that big but I'm gonna ride it like that for a while. I've also swopped the orange grips for black BMX grips.
"star shaped allen key" is called "Torx". Handy to have...

Looks great Juliet. I like the white rimmed wheel in the front. It, combined with the orange, makes it look like a gradient of color from light to dark, starting at the front of the bike and finishing near the rear. Very cool!
