I just got this profile 36T spline drive in the mail today. The machining on it is so nice. These will be available very soon, if not already. Hopefully they will be a little easier to get your hands on than the coveted Tree spline drives. Thanks again Christian and Profile Racing!
I caught this over on the MASH blog:
I can't wait for this weekend. There are going to be so many people in town, and so many events going on.
Went to the Nike tunnel today. Wow. fucking insane. Best van ride there ever. Photos to come, I'm lazy and my camera has no batteries left. Leaving Wednesday, I don't want to. Best week ever so far.
Today I woke up really early to catch the train out to Westburry. It was about an hour and a half train ride from London. Alex Rankin picked me up from the station to go out for a day of riding and filming around Bath and its surrounding villages.
The first landmark we visited was Gold Hill, an old cobble stone steep hill. I had to take a couple photos of this place, it was amazing looking. It looks out over the country side to rolling green hills.
After stopping at some British looking architecture along the road to film snippets, we were off to the Charge office.

I was really stoked to visit the office/showroom. Everything looked great, and I got a few sneak peaks at some new product. After lunch, I got to ride the warehouse quarter for a bit. It was a super narrow setup, but really fun. Luckily I didn't smash into any of the bikes or anything else.
Next, we sped off to the city of Bath. Alex had lived in Bath for some time, and gave us a tour of some local riding and historical spots.
Everything was going great until I rolled my ankle at the skatepark. I was trying to nose manual a box and bailed off funny landing on the side of my foot. That pretty much fucked any filming for the rest of the day.
We said fuck it and got some dinner. After dinner I caught the train back to London and headed to Andy's house. Everyone took it easy the rest of the night and ate shitty junk food and scotch eggs. Hopefully my ankle will be better by Sunday for the shop 14 party.
I can't thank Nick and Alex enough for all their hospitality today. I'm bummed I didn't get to film with Alex as much as I would have liked due to my ankle. Hopefully we can meet up later in the week and try to squeeze some stuff in before I take off.
Woke up to a nice English breakfast that Andy had cooked for Tony and I. It was delicious. Afterward, we headed to the skatepark to meet up with everyone for a day of riding. London has the best concrete skateparks aside from FDR.
Tomorrow I am taking the train out to meet Nick and Alex Rankin. We are going to film for a podcast around Bath and Bristol. I'm excited to see a different side of England other than London. 2 days of non-stop riding and jetlag are starting to take its toll on me. I think I'm going hit the sack early tonight.
Got to check out Shop 14, and Ted's workshop today. The shop looks so good, and is fully stocked with so many frames and parts. Seeing Ted's workshop was really rad too, it totally fits his personality. I dug it.
Ted and his mill
New bar and stem set up. Kink wedge stem, and gusset 3" rise bars. I'm loving the way my bike feels with these.
Odge's Shop 14 ESB, built by Super Ted.
Tony's Shop 14 ESB, built by Super Ted.
We got to ride this sick basement with some small boxes and wedge ramps at night. I'm so tired.. More riding around London tomorrow. Can't wait.
Tony and I arrived in London tonight. We met Andy, Ted and Odge at the airport and took the tube back to Andy and Monique's place. Somehow Andy managed to take photos of us on the tube and post them to flickr, which then led to Prolly posting them before we even got off the tube. Technology is fucking crazy. hahaha. I am so stoked to be back in London again hanging out with all these dudes. I fucking love it here. I think I am going out to Nicks office on Wednesday to meet him and Alex Rankin to do another podcast. Really excited about that as well. There are talks of possibly making a whole trip out of it and going out to Bristol to ride some more afterward. Can't wait to see shop 14 and Ted's workshop tomorrow. I can't thank Andy and Monique enough for putting Tony and I up.
I 'm exhausted and haven't
showered in 4 days, but couldn't be happier at the moment. Midwest Mayhem was
the best time I've had in a while. It was amazing to meet so many riders from
all over the country and be able to ride with them. I really hope that this
planted the seed for more events like this to come.
The highlight of the night had
to be Wonka's gap to wallride. It was at least 9 feet off the ground from a
wedge ramp to almost flat. Insane. Everyone was riding their hardest and getting
psyched off of one another. I definitely feel that this event was a mile marker
for fixed gears, and that there is only more progression that will show.
I can't thank everyone enough
that made this all happen, and took care of all the outta towners. I truely
have not felt this happy in a while, and this trip was a much needed release. Thank
you Nick, Charge, BTI, Prolly, Kevin, Mark, Peter, Antonio, Sam, Gabby, Drew,
Milwaukee Bicycle Co/ Ben’s Cycle, COG, all the other sponsors that supported
the event, and anyone else that I’ve forgot to mention. Oh yeah, and the Comet
is the best fucking restaurant in Milwaukee.
I’m going to try and keep
updating this with all of the photos and videos from Midwest Mayhem. There are
to many to count.
