The new Scissor prototype showed up at my doorstep today. It looks great and all, but It won't see much riding for a few weeks until my wrist is healed. I go in for surgery early tomorrow morning. I'm having a screw put through my scaphoid bone in my wrist. Juliet and Posy both told me they had the same surgery done..I was hoping I wouldn't need it.. I think my wrist was actually broken for about 4 weeks prior to getting medical help. I'm pretty much re-writing the same thing that happened to Juliet a few months back. Here are some photos of the scissor prototype.

The whole thing weighs in around 24 pounds and some change. I've never ridden a bike this light or up to date. It feels great.
I lost my camera in Europe. Fuck Blogs.
The latest Urban Velo is available for free online here. Prolly wrote a nice little article on the development of freestyle fixed gear. I have a photo in it that Andy Temkin took a few weeks back.
Hope everyone had a good holiday and new years.
We piled the bikes in the van and went to Salisbury Maryland to ride BMX this past weekend. Delaware and Maryland might just be the worst states...ever. Salisbury had some good spots to ride though...
We saw a run down flea market on the side of the high way with the most shit I have ever seen in one place. It looked like everything had been left out in the rain for about 3 years. This pretty much sums up Delaware.
We finally got to Salisbury and rode for a few hours before we got back in the car for the long haul back.
I got out on my fixed gear with Tony the other night, the weather was really unseasonably warm. We got a few clips on his camera.
The first clip is of Tony doing a rollout to double barspin super fast.

I nose dived and ate shit shortly after getting over the jersey barrier..

I received a really nice package from Profile the other day as well. Thanks Christian!
And last but not least...
I finally stopped being a slacker and decided to make my first post on here. Tony, Wonka and myself headed up to NYC for the weekend to ride and film for Empire. After swapping the parts off my busted 1x1 and onto Tony's Redline monocog we hustled into town to catch the china town bus to NYC. We got into town around midnight and met with John. After sitting around for a minute we headed over to some hipster party that looked like the opening of an urban outfitters. We decided to call it a night after that, and get some rest for riding on Saturday.
We attempted to get out riding early, but as usual my bike troubles prevented that from happening. Once everything was straightened out the pack of us got on the way to Queens. After about 9 miles we finally arrived. This spot has been in tons of BMX videos and I've always wanted to ride it. Andy Temkin got some really nice shots as well as CK. I can't download CK's, so click the link to view them.
Tony Fast floating an air to fakie.
After riding this spot for almost 2 hours, I still feel like there are so many lines to be discovered. We decided to push on in the freezing cold to the next spot.
By this point everyone was beginning to freeze, especially Nate accustomed to San Fransisco's mild weather. Pussy. We rode here for a little bit longer, and then I ate shit and put a nice flat spot in my rim...It was a nice bumpy ride back to Brooklyn. Once we got back Luke whipped up a nice home cooked meal for Tony and I as we bummed around for a few hours and got warm. We decided we were still hungry so we stuffed ourselves with pastries. Reluctantly we got off the couch and back on the bikes to head over to trackstars party.
Tony sporting the chipped tooth and half open eye look, Hot for 2009.
I had a lot of fun riding with new people this weekend, and riding some awesome spots. Tony and I got to check out some touristy stuff that we had managed to bypass every other trip to NYC. I think this is the most time I've ever dedicated to writing a blog. haha.
Super...Tony?
It looks like Tony and Ted have a lot in common, I think they'll get along great!
Thanks John and Luke for the hospitality as usual!
